[ Saxon Switzerland, 13.11.2005 ]

And so (again) we went to the Saxon Switzerland and reached Kurort

Rathen round 10 o'clock. This place is a very popular tourist destination

and as you can easily figure out there were quite a lot of people who

took the same route as we did :| Monika was obviously still asleep and

wanted to drink some coffee. Here is what she has found >>> film 1

Finally in the parks of Saxon Switzerland. All routes are tailored to the

needs of tourists... This region certainly has a spectacular landscape

and sandstone formations offer each visitor overwhelming views ;)

Borowka and Monika posing in front of the famous bridge near Bastei ;)

It's hard to protect this area from mass tourism, especially during

weekends... We experienced that ourselves...

We bought the tickets and visited the Felsenburg as well ;P

Monika seemed to be in a good mood ;)

Borowka as well ;)

I think I'll stay here a bit longer ;) Don't wait for me :)

Monika is looking for some interesting route to get back to the city.

But first we should get out of the Felsenburg. This turned out to be a challenge :P

Let me out!

:) Monika was really scared ;P

Resting in the mountains ;) BTW, this area owes its name to Anton

Graff and Adrian Zingg. They were teachers at Dresden Art Academy

and sent greetings from Königstein in "Saxon Switzerland" to their

home - in Switzerland ;)

So we probably have seen most of the Saxon Switzerland so far.

Well, now I'll have to find some new destination for the weekend to

come. Any ideas? Well, we shall see :) In the meantime, have a look

at the the second film  >>> film
